Sweet and sour onions with Real extra virgin olive oil

Sweet and sour onions are a particularly tasty and pleasant dish on cold autumn days.

Excellent as a side dish to a second of meat, can also be a tasty appetizer.

INGREDIENTS FOR 4 PEOPLE:
300gr. of onions
4 bay leaves
balsamic vinegar
salt q.b.
pepper q.b.
2 tablespoons of sugar
2 tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil Real
Preparation: 5 minutes

Cooking time: 10-15 minutes

Level of difficulty: simple

Clean and wash the onions thoroughly. Place them in a non-stick pan and add a little extra virgin Real oil and the bay leaves. Season with salt, pepper and cook over low heat for about 10-15 minutes, taking care to cover the pan with a glass lid and stir occasionally to avoid sticking to the bottom. If they get too dry, add a few teaspoons of hot water.
When the onions are tender, blend with a little balsamic vinegar, add the sugar to let caramelize.
Serve hot as an appetizer, aperitif or a side dish of meat. For a more pronounced and aromatic flavor, add a drizzle of raw extra virgin olive oil when serving.
